How can I track mileage when I drive for multiple gig apps?
Keep one mileage record across Uber, Lyft, DoorDash and other gig work. Review actual miles, separate personal driving and export your records.
Use one record for the miles you actually drive
When you switch between Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Uber Eats or other platforms, the same mile should not appear twice just because two apps are open. Record the shift, miles, time, work category and platform where known. Keep personal driving separate and review any unclassified distance.
How mileage records work in ProfitPin
- Open the business area and choose Mileage. Use an existing shift for the record.
- Review recorded mileage. For a manual record, enter miles, optional whole minutes, the gig app if known and a note.
- Choose the category: unpaid pickup, paid trip, between gigs, repositioning or return, personal, or unclassified.
- Correct manual entries when needed and review automatic entries against your own records.
- Use Reports & export to save or share the business journal as CSV.
ProfitPin includes automatic and manual mileage record workflows. Automatic capture depends on the installed build, location permissions, active shift and available location data. Review the totals rather than assuming every mile was captured. These controls are part of the Android app, not this website.
A simple multi-app example
You drive 3 miles to an Uber pickup, 8 miles with a passenger, 2 miles to a restaurant and 5 miles for a DoorDash delivery. The total is 18 miles, not 36 because both apps were open. Record a later personal trip separately. This example describes recordkeeping categories, not tax deductibility.
Are offer miles the same as tracked miles?
No. Offer miles are estimates available before the job. Actual mileage records describe completed driving and may include additional pickup, return or repositioning distance. Use the trip calculator for an estimate and mileage records for review afterward.
Can I export mileage with my earnings and expenses?
The business journal CSV includes saved records for review. Keep your supporting records and check classifications before using an export for accounting. An export is not a tax return or a guarantee that a particular trip is deductible.

How much am I making after expenses?
Track gig earnings and expenses across apps, review the shift and avoid counting vehicle costs twice.
